Senior Accountant

Our client is a 300MM entertainment company that is seeking to add a Senior Accountant to their corporate team! The HQ is based in Dallas and can be considered for permanent or contract placement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and coordinate all entries required to generate accurate monthly financial statements.
  • Perform all balance sheet accounts reconciliation and research to ensure accuracy.
  • Act as the liaison between the course manager and the Home Office.
  • Interpret, identify, and ensure that all lease related obligations are met/satisfied.
  • Prepare lease reports periodically as determined in lease agreements.
  • Implement accounting procedures and maintain the integrity of financial information.
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages for the managed courses.
  • Ensure a clean and timely year-end audit and assist with work on auditor requests to successfully achieve audited financial statements.
  • Manage special projects and provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
  • Ability to coach, train, and monitor performance of the assigned course manager on accounting issues.

Minimum Qualifications and Skill Requirements

  • Ability to:
    • Read, analyze, and interpret lease/management/legal agreements, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
    • Write reports, business correspondence and document procedures.
    • Analyze, interpret, and record business transactions according to generally accepted accounting principles.
    • Apply accounting level math skills.
    • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
    • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, and JD Edwards OneWorld or Oracle
  • Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Provide analytical, and organizational time management skills

Education and Experience:

  • BS Degree from a 4-year college or university
  • 3+ years of related experience or training
